Some notes on the chemistry presented in this post:
-Try not to use ANY pigment containing cadmium, it’s fairly toxic.
-It’s spelled “phthalo”.
-Quinacridone and Hansa are actually whole families of pigments.
Red is a primary color, that means it can not be made by mixing other colors together... same with blue and yellow! It also applies for white and black
Alright listen up, the color theory admits them both groups of colors as primary. You don't get better colors just different ones. #get your facts straight

Doors have just been opened for me. Thank you for posting this. I have been drawing/painting since I was in second grade (I'm 21 now and pretty fucking good) and I didn't know this. No one ever mentioned it.

If you think that those are the primary colors, you are talking about the primary colors on physics, not in art.
Would people please stop posting this!! The cyan, magenta, yellow, is ONLY true for digital work. NOT traditional media. Traditional media is, and always will be BLUE, RED, YELLOW! hy not post the many many comments that explain that!
