A lot of them still can't afford it. It's gonna all blow up eventually. Lots of people are moving to different cities. However, those who are paying it are making well into six figures. But even those people are tired of the prices and are leaving to get lesser paying jobs in cities that are much more affordable.
I met a guy in San Francisco a week or two ago who is paying $800 a month to sleep on someone else's couch. He doesn't get his own room, he doesn't have free use of the kitchen. He just gets to sleep on their couch and it costs him $800/month. This area is ridiculous.
