As a cyclist, I can assure you that 1) these ones are assholes, but we are not all like this, and 2) motorcyclists often follow the rules cyclists will probably break.

1. Yes, everyone idiot on the road with two wheels is like this. 2. All two wheeled idiots break the law, then whine about how no one watches out for them and they have just as much right to the road as cars all while ignoring all applicable traffic laws. Motorcycles are just slightly worse because they use the "daily danger" they face to make their damn bikes louder than hell. "Loud pipes save lives."

Actually, loud pipes do save lives due to the fact that most drivers don't ever seem to be looking for or are aware of the motorcycles presence. The loud pipes work simply because drivers will hear the bikes and then look for them, unfortunately some drivers still don't look.

Not driving like an idiot saves more lives than loud pipes. The only thing loud pipes are for is to entertain the simple-minded riders. "Heh, heh, I'm making noise."

i went the speed limit on my motorcycle, had a relatively quiet ninja 500, hated the people who weaved through traffic in them, followed all applicable laws, and i got ran off the road numerous times and ultimately my bike was destroyed when a driver made a turn in front of me and tossed me and my bike under a parked truck. soooooo i dunno about all this biker bitching. but as a biker and a car person i hate teh shit out of the ones who ride down the street lines.

In my place majority of accidents are caused by motorcycles, not bicycles. Motorcycle drivers use their speed to insert in tight spaces often leading to disaster
