I remember this since it came out just before I went to Afghanistan, but it changed absolutely nothing concerning the meals I actually got. To clarify this I should point out that even those actually affected still got three meals a day it's just that only two of those were "hot" which meant cooked by someone else and served to the troops. The third usually consisted of an MRE or some sort of cold selection to make sandwiches or salads or whatnot. Not saying there wasn't legitimate shortages that caused some soldiers to have less but in general no one really noticed.
Prisons= run by companies.
There is no connection between these two facts.
