Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid.
I don't agree that everybody is a genius even I the metaphorical sense that everybody is bound to be great at something, but good quote anyways.
This is funny and sad and unfortunately doesn't stop there. There is an actual proposal in Florida to make grades on a curve based on ethnicity (polite word for race). The example: White or Asian ethnicity an A is between 90-100, Hispanic, Latino an A is between 80-90, Black 70-80. Using this curve "will allow everyone to succeed". I really can't tell if the proposers are more racist or just severely misguided. Children learn differently that's a fact but that shouldn't stop everyone from reaching a set level. It's important to recognize the differences and adjust as needed without pandering the students so they're unprepared for the inherent unfairness of life after school.
