Yeah but putting that big ass paper there in plain sight kind of defeated the original purpose of hiding the package in the first place...

No, the other side of the paper says they couldn't deliver the package because no one was home. I doubt the shit stains stealing the packages would actually read the back side if there's nothing on the porch to steal.
