Often the people who don't experience social exhaustion are the same people who are mind numbingly exhausting. Not always. I know some exceptions. But often.
I think I banned myself from Christmas party interactions for next year. There were 3 girls at our annual Friendsmas last night. 1 had moved away last year and came back as a surprise for the weekend, so the 3 were taking constant selfies for hours and being generally loud and uppity. I couldn't take it, I was ready to go home, but hubby wasn't at all and I didn't want to leave and make him said, so instead I said, "You ladies are so loud you're depleting my social meter battery." The room got uncomfortably quiet.
Hahaha that's awesome. Yeah, not being in a relationship has allowed me to be the king of the irish exit. I don't think my friends appreciate it though...
YES! I had this one friend, he was a great guy. A geek like me and I could relate to really well. We got along famously. Finished each others sentences, loved the same things, and people said we were two peas in a pod.
Unfortunately, he was a bit high energy or something. Half the time I hung out with him, I'd have seizures or my blood sugar would plummet or other some occurrences. Once we were out at Walmart and he stopped to talk to an associate about Wifi connectors (he was going to get one for me.) I *had to* sit down and then proceeded to nearly pass out. I was disoriented and sounded like a 5 year old. He called my family (rather then the ambulance) for help. I hated so much to break off our friendship but I just had to. He was, literally, making me sick.
