I feel like if some of the fans/Rick Riordan himself were allowed to help work on the movie and guide the directors from fucking it up, it might not have been so bad
If they didn't have shitty effects, shitty acting, shitty script, shitty plot, and shitty shitting, it may have been halfway passable. And the worst part is that every single one of these things didn't need any outside guidance from either fans or Riordan. Script was basic. Effects were cheesy, sort of like Rubber or Sharknado. Acting was lackluster. Static. Actors memorized the script and regurgitated it, not acting it out. And to hell with the fact that the plot didn't even correlate to the books, it was just a shit plot with plot holes and gaps and "how the hell" and "wait woah there's a logic jump".

Lightning Thief was at least passable in these categories.
We fan girls and boys think that we HATE the Percy Jackson films. But our hate is nothing compared to the hate of our overlord, master, and least favorite uncle Uncle Rick
