Last summer I had to go to the 30-something floor of the Trans-Am Pyramid in SF for a job. I checked in with security, they gave me a pass card to use the elevator, and I got on the elevator. Somehow in that short amount of time I forgot about the pass card and stood in the elevator for over five minutes trying to get it to go. I pushed all the buttons. I tried to open the doors but they wouldn't open. I pressed the call button. I waved at the security camera. Then I put my hand in my pocket and felt the key card. I felt pretty stupid.
When I was like 6 I was in the bathroom going through the stuff in the drawers and I found a disposable Razor and I was like "Hello, Razor. They say you're pretty sharp... Care to prove it?" And so I drug the Razor across my thumb and for a second I was like "HAH! It didn't even cut me!" And then a few seconds later I looked down and my thumb was gushing blood and the blood was running down my arm and I cried. I didn't even cry because of the pain, looking back on it I really didn't feel any pain. I was just horrified thinking I just sliced my thumb off.
