Here's a serious answer to the question: square-cube law. If an adult is twice taller that a kid, then he weighs 2³=8 times more than the kid, but his surface area is only 2²=4 times greater. That means twice the pressure, which is why slides don't work on adults. That explains why adults burn their hands when sliding down a rope. Also why it's more painful to land after jumping down from even moderate heights.
