Same here it freaked me out seeing people do it. But when I had my baby it seemed normal. My parents didn't do it with us. But all my siblings do it with their kids. But once they reach about 3rd or 4th grade it stops and just goes to a kiss on the cheek.
I use to work with a man (early 20s) and I saw him kiss his mother under her ear on her neck. I'm still freaked out about it. He told me he liked that his younger girlfriend called him daddy, I use to think he was kidding
I kiss my 7 month old on the lips.. but that's way different than kissing an older child. Once they hit a certain age it can become a little inapropro.
A little peck on the lips is innocent. I kiss my 7yr old son like that quite a bit. Those that disagree have issues of their own if they can turn a sweet gesture into something perverted.

Agreed! There's nothing wrong with kissing a family member on the lips. It's to show affection and love in a family. And to the people saying it's "inappropriate" after a certain age: I'm 16. Obviously I'm not that old, but are you really going to judge someone over how their family shows affection? That's kind've shallow and a bit sad.
Personally, I find it normal to kiss parents on the lips. Just like touch lips, nothing else. Maybe it's where we are born or how we are raised. I was born and raised as an Italian, and as you know, most Italians are very comfortable with one another. So it's normal for us.
