One time I had a little monkey my ex gave me. I left it sitting on a shelf. 4 years after we broke up my cat knocked it off the shelf. Turns out there was a necklace inside I never knew about

It really was. We still talk but I'm too embarrassed to ask if he knew it had a necklace inside since he never mentioned it

You should :) and it's great you two still talk. It'd be better to ask and be embarrassed for a short amount of time then spend the rest of your life wondering. If you do ask him id love to hear what he says.
