I see military service as a possible stepping stone for my future goals. But i dont see myself as a career. I would sign up in a heartbeat if the US was attacked again like 9/11 or pearl harbor
There are lots of jobs in the military that make it unlikely for you to get called into war, such as a (as my father does) help maintain the Washington Moscow hotline, or (as both my mother and grandmother used to do) was help manage foreign military bases, the likely hood of getting called in those types of jobs is low to none. Although if there's a scenario where you would want to join and fight, then sadly you wouldn't be able to. But hey take what I say with a grain of salt, as being in those positions is VERY difficult to get to. Also I'm not the best source for 100% accuracy. Hope I helped :P
I mostly dont want to do career military because i want a family. And i know the US military does alot for the family members but id still rather be able to be with them. And thas alittle hypocritical coming from someone who wants to work for the US State Department
