An elders react channel existed before fine bros started elders react(called stillcosmo, I think). That channel shut down mysteriously, and a month later, fine bros started an elders react series. Also, they're trying to trademark their 'format' but its really vague. They told their fans to attack Ellen for having kids react to stuff in her show, but it didn't follow their format at all. This whole thing was just a poorly handled way of trying to secretly monopolize all reaction videos and channels. Go research before you try to comment about something.
In their video where they cleared up the confusion, which of course has been taken down now, they explained they were concerned about creators that completely copied their format, not just one or two aspects. They said one or two aspects was okay. They said they did come across some people in the past that did create content that was extremely close to their format and had it removed.
Of course the whole React World thing is over now because FineBros have changed their minds. They explained they had good intentions but realized the concept made it appear that they could take more advantage of it as people had assumed.
Not even the idea of, "teens react" or "elders react". only the idea of having a group react to different genres of stuff then get asked different questions about said stuff. example of reaction videos that happen but aren't in the same category as finebros would be buzzfeed. Different reactions to food, inventions etc...
well instead of "teens react" you could make it more specific like "high school students" or "college students" react to. Around the same age range and you're showing them content that's related to them in some way. Just a thought. There are some ways to work around it. And plus they said if you wanted to do Teens React, they could license it to you and you even start making money off of it, or at least that's how I interpreted it.
What also has come to light is how douchy it turns out they are... they tried to raise an angry internet mob to go after Ellen for "ripping them off" for her having kids reactions to old technology on her show a while back. They apparently got butt hurt over not being involved.
Go listen to this week's Funhaus podcast. They can explain it far better.
And to those saying that they didn't trademark the word "React," you're right. They didn't, but they sure as hell tried to.
This is what I've been trying to tell people!
