I kid you not; I was sewing a quilt once, and I had a dish full of open safety pins. My cat grabbed a mouthful and tried to run off with them! I grabbed her just in time and took them out of her mouth. The pins, lucky, didn't hurt her. She never did that again.
You have a duck?! How is it? Are they expensive to maintain? Do you live on a farm/have a farm to raise him? Or does he live in your house? (Sorry for so many questions D: I really love ducks and plan on getting one.)
I saved a duck once... It was sick and dying in the snow in the middle of winter (I live in Canada and it was a really cold winter) it couldn't fly but it tried and I had to chase it a bit but I caught it and I put it in this huge box I had made as a dog house for my puppy and gave it a blanket and fed it bread. Like 2 days later my mom got some people to come take him and make sure he gets better. I cried when he was taken away cuz I wanted a duck (mind you I was 12 at the time)
I do indeed have a duck! I actually have 3, but only one lives indoors with me. She was hand raised from a day old, and bonded with me from the start. She's not expensive at all. I buy a 50lb bag of food for her and the other two maybe 3-4 times a year at $20 a bag. And she gets all sorts of scraps of food throughout the day to supplement her diet. She has a diaper she wears while in the house, but she loves to be outside, so that's where she spends a lot of her time. Ducks are wonderful animals and can be tamed quite easily, but they are CONSTANTLY POOPING. Please keep that in mind if you plan on getting one. Also, if the duck will live outdoors, it will need companion ducks. They are extremely social animals and the only reason my Lovey lives inside is because she bonded to me and sees herself as a human. She doesn't understand other ducks at all. Sorry this was so long!
P.S. I love the username!
