Local book store has a shop cat with a lot of personality

I'm sorry, but if you have a cat in a public place, I will try to befreind it. I will try to pat its head and scratch its chin. That's kinda the point of having a cat. Do not get annoyed when I try.

However, by that note, I do stand warned. If I am bitten, it is my fault and my fault alone.
