There's so much lead in the water it overwhelms filters. Nice thought, but it didn't really help.

No one would want to drink it, but the local government isn't doing much to help, or at least, isn't getting it done fast enough.

Many Spartan stores in Michigan (including the one I work at) have signs up informing people of the situation and of their fundraiser to send cases of water to Flint. We've sent 3 semi truck loads from our store alone so far.

In general water filters don't do much or last very long, especially with the severity of contamination in Flint. Really the only long term solution is ripping out the old pipes and installing a whole new system. Unfortunately that would cost billions to do :( the one good thing coming out of this situation is that they are now going to be checking the pipe systems across our whole state, or so they say.
