I am from Africa (South Africa) & it seems that all people think about when they think of Africa is starved children & poverty. It's not like that. Africa is a CONTINENT, not a country- meaning it's huge and there are many different countries which are all unique. I live in a multiracial neighbourhood, a good house, go to a good school, live a life that would be considered normal by American standards. Not to say that there isn't poverty in my country, there is. But which country has it all figured out? As for racial tension, haven't heard of such. Sometimes the media makes things seem bigger than they are. South Africa is wonderful.
Everyone always wants to go to the big fancy famous cities like New York, Paris, or Tokyo. These are fantastic places to go but seriously tourists need to branch out and see what else is out there. South Africa like mentioned is beautiful so is Tunisia. Other places like Vancouver island, Alaska, South Korea, Montana, Scotland, and Brazil all have some of the greatest natural beauty in the world.
But isn't those also quite common vacation destinations tho? I mean, haven't been to Montana.. but I know many who have been to Brazil and South Korea, South Africa is one of my favourite countries to visit, and so is Scotland.
I might come from a family that travel loads, but I would say that many travel to other destinations than New York, Paris and Tokyo.
love when I forget to log in! (Isn't Tunisia a pretty common place to visit as well?Or is it just that we Swedes have very different holiday destinations)
I just didnt want to sound biased or stuck up by saying Yosemite or yellowstone or big bend which are all in America. But yes those are popular destinations. I also didn't want to take away from the post by going off about america
It is too bad that they are extremely racist. Also - "neglect"? Seriously? Unless someone in South Africa wants to give me a giant plot of land, I am not neglecting anything there. Shame on those who live there for letting it get so bad.
