There's way more to trumps rise. He answered to peoples fears and hatred of basic politicians. If people were just scared of terrorism and those groups a candidate like ted cruz or Marco rubio would be leading. Donald trumps success is because he gives off a false notion of success by being a successful real estate mogul and a household name. This dude A, has obviously never watched an interview with a trump supporter and B, should stop thinking about the bigoted results against Muslims as a result of a possible trump presidency but also the consequences to Mexicans, lower class and middle class americans. As well as U.S-world relations which will probably go to hell.
Well that's true; they see themselves as "true" Islam. But Isis is not the only Islamic terror group, and these terror groups are Islamic. They do not wear uniforms and wave flags (Isis not withstanding), so the only identifying feature is Islam. Xenophobia or Islamophobia aside, how do we combat the very real threat of Islamic terrorism if we refuse to even link terrorism with Islam?
Well ISIS is recruiting similarly to that of a street gang they make promises to young men like power, a wife, belonging and the chance to make those pay for what they did. These people are broken and angry. Show them that ISIS is not the path.
Are we talking specifically about only ISIS then? From what I've seen they seem no different in their recruitment tactics than Al-Quaeda, Hezbollah, or any of the numerous splinter factions; they all think they are the true disciples of Mohamed.
I have not seen Trump speak against Muslims, only Muslim terrorism and how we could try to combat it. The Democrats, media, Twitter, and watercooler gossip have blown his remarks out of proportion, taken them out of context, or outright misrepresented them. Of course Trump's bluster and bombastic speeches may not help his message. I'm convinced, however, that he purposely plays to the lowest common denominator in his audience; perhaps trying to dumb it down to grab the ignorant welfare bums while assuming the more intelligent supporters understand already. Maybe he just likes the attention. I've heard it said any press is good press.
Let it be known I am not a Trumpster. I do not think he would do any of the Nazi-ish things people seem to think he stands for as president, though. On the contrary, I think there's every chance he would moderate his tone and work with the Democrats to further their agendas. He has already publicly praised Obamacare and Planned Parenthood, two of the four corners of evil for Conservatives, leaving only the immigration issue and Islamic terrorism.
Trump is everything I was taught to stand against a loud mouthed hateful bigot who exiles people because of religion, race, and class. I was taught "everyone is free to follow whichever religion they choose," not everyone is free to follow the religion I think is right. I was taught to speak up against people like him and now I'm seeing the same generation that taught me that go against everything they told me. America really sucks right now and I have no money to get out.
Don't worry, he only wants to keep out foreign Muslims until the government is sure they are not ISIS. As for the immigrants, only illegal ones with criminal tendencies are unwelcome. Nobody is being exiled or prevented from practising any religion .
Exactly what @enidblytonfan said. Do some research @summer; do not simply believe what you read from uneducated bigots on Twitter.
However, if you really do hate my country it has nothing to do with Trump; one person you disagree with cannot change your mind that much. If this is your true opinion, please leave. Lack of money is not stopping the illegal aliens who come here everyday, why let it stop you from leaving?
The funny thing is I have actually watched his addresses and debates so I have done my research? He's still a bigot no matter how you slice it. And it's not one person? It's the fact that so many people agree with him when he goes against everything America was founded on. And also maybe because it cost money to move between the airplane cost, becoming a citizen, finding a home, being able to support yourself until you get a job thats a lot of money I don't have.
My point is the illegals don't spend money on plane tickets. Where there's a will there's a way.
Saying you hate this country and want to leave just because of one person running for election with whom you disagree tells me you have much more deeply seated issues than just Donald Trump. Maybe a gofundme campaign.
Im sure it feels good for the OP to align Trump with terrorists but its hardly true. Dailydoseofmusic is right, Trump's momentum has very little to do with extreme terrorists. Both political parties are fueld by one thing, Power. Money is the source of that power and if you think both political arent equally controlled by big money you better do some thinking. Trumps momentum is routed in same purpose as Obama's was in 2008..."Change". Obama's change was from "republican Bush style leaderahip" Trumps "Change", believe it or not, is similar to Sanders in that it's change away from traditional US polotics all together (disrupting the traditional flow of money through washington). Trump and Sanders share much more in common with eachother than anyone else on the ballots.
I don't get how Trump appeals to those who are fed up with politicians. He acts like the total stereotype of an opportunistic politician, who only says what people want to hear. Someone here said he spoke out in favor of Obamacare and planned parenthood. Actually at some moment he spoke out for and against more or less all major positions. Not long ago he kind of praised Obamacare, now that on the right/republican side that seems like some wicked plan from hell, he is totally against it. Asked (many, many, many times) what his alternative was, he just mumbled "Get rid of the states lines, more competitions, wonderful plans". His plan is to get in power by any means and then rely on him being best at everything. Lets see how this is going to work out.
You are right on all counts. He has used the Democrat playbook many many times in his speeches-trying to cover all the bases, flip flopping some of his positions depending upon to which audience he is speaking, etc. But the reason why he appeals to people who are fed up with politicians is because he is NOT a politician. This ventures into psychological territory; people know him as a celebrity and are accustomed to following what celebrities have to say these days. Also he is saying what they want to hear, and the fact he changes his message to what the next group wants to hear does not register with the first group because they have already heard what they wanted to hear. People will not remember what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel. It's sad, but from a psychological perspective it makes sense. Also at work here is group-think, and the psychology of a group is different than the psychology of an individual.
Yep. He's saying what a lot of people think but too many people are afraid to say. People see him as an outsider in the political world and don't notice he's really running the same old politician's campaign on them.
Trump is not the opposite of being politically correct. He is the opposite of being a decent human being. He is lying and cheating and contradicting himself all the time and any time his bullshit is called, he just ignores it and steps down the accelerator a notch more.
.
Also, accusing an opponent to be excessively politically correct has sort of become the standard reaction of assholes and bullies towards being called assholes and bullies.
And then there's this asshole. No, i do not agree with you. I have TONS of muslim friends who were actually saddened by the death of Osama Bin Laden. Like, I don't think he is solely responsible for the Twin Towers attack, I believe that the US gov played a role. But what the fuck, this dude was KNOWN to be a terrorist with or without twon tower bombing? And they were saddened by his fuckin death. I do not support trump at all, I think he's racist and etc. But this is a religion thing. Yes they did go through major political occorunces in which blood was shed. But even without such, some areas in the middle east still practiced violent forms of islam. It's a fact. The KKK were and still are a Christian and White person problem, we do not differentiate them as people seem to think. We accept and know they are our problem and we've done a fucking great job at suppressing them now haven"t we? Muslims need to make a proper stand against ISIS, they need to realise this is the path Islam 1/2

2/2 is headinv and it's dark and gloomy. Catholics had the same problem during WW2. There are militaries that are going to use religion against people, find a way to morally adjust this behaviour. This is a religion thing, not a political thing.
