This is why the hobbit trilogy sucked. CGI everything. No practical effects. Hats off to the Mad Max crew, for being awesome.

Nearly every shot in Mad Max had some CGI in it, it just wasnt super obvious. Little things like explosions and the like.

actually mad max had a lot of CGI but it also had a lot of practical effects unlike popular belief
