Yes, CGI is way over used in movies... When they take the time to build models and make costumes you totally get sucked it. CGI just looks too polished to be real life.

CGI is good when used as a side dish, not the main course. Deadpool is a good example of this. Colossus's CGI worked well because it was used as a tool.

Most of the cgi looked good but it slowly degrades as the trailer goes on.

That's the way cgi works. As time goes on, your brain gets better at noticing it. So the more it is used in a film, the less impressive it seems.

I like it. The special effects in the trailer look bright and colourful, and there is much worse CGI out there. It's not lazy.

Also, the special effects in the original don't hold up that well. Admit it.
