Well, it's the Danes that do silent letters in Scandinavia. So she's probably from there.

Written Danish is very far from spoken Danish and the spelling seems rather arbitrary compared to other Scandinavian languages.

If she is English then the silent letters would make her name pronounced like a "rude" word. I don't think any parents would do that to a child. If she is Danish, then her name doesn't mean anything. That makes more sense
