It's a crazy list and kind of annoying, but I think it is a really good idea. I have a friend with a lot of allergies and you can see the waitress/waiter getting progressively more frustrated as she asks questions and lists allergies. Conversely her husband is a picky eater... When I go out with them I drink more and tip more.
That was quick. I hate it for Megan. As my Southern parents taught me to say"Bless her heart." If the Shrimp break the Crab rule . I'd go for Steak and carrots with broc and cauliflower
Hey . we don't know her/his life. Beans means beans. I agree Coffee has nothing to do with legumes. But If (Theoretically a doctor) told you to avoid beans what would wikiDoctor tell you?
i feel really bad for people with lots of allergies
like they have to be so careful with eating and drinking bc it's actually not just annoying but also very dangerous
and it's for their own good but people around can be judgemental and mean saying they are picky when they just take care of themselves
I agree. Having food allergies is the pits. I am pretty much allergic to all foods but I just get headaches and diarreah. The only thing I actually need an epi pen is for alcohol.
That a really foolish thing to do. In most people it causes intense pain and often results in either vomiting or diarrhea. In additional the more inflammation your friend causes by not following the correct diet, the more he is unable to digest food which is likely to cause anemia, malnutrition and early osteoporosis as well as often causing anxiety or depression.
its not deadly if you eat correctly my aunts in her 60's with it, my cousin didn't go diagnosed till he was almost so underweight he could have died because he wasn't processing it. but it is painful and horrible to go that way i suggest if your friend actually has it to go see a doctor and a nutritionist it might not hurt now but eating like that will start and cause him to be sick for days.... you sure its not just a gluten sensitivity or allergy?
I would say sensitivity, which I got myself too recently and it sucks. You can very well live without it but the world around you is equipped with gluten, so no easy cookies, bread, easy pizza, etc. The temptation to sin sometimes if you only get aches in your casings is large. Very large.
Hmm I wonder what her allergic reaction level is to these substances. Either way, at least she was considerate to the food staff to make the process simple and straight forward. It's quite the easy fix for a good chef who now's his meals and dish ingredients, and a super chef might take it as a "healthy" challenge to make something new! ;)
That's freaking bullshit. Megan likes to go out just as much as you, she has friends like you (in case you do) and it's not like she does it on purpose. Plus there are a lot of things she can eat. Would be much worse if she also couldnt eat gluten.
I'm assuming Megan is a grown women. It is her responsibility to take care of herself and not the restaurant. That's why I'm saying she needs to stay home. When she grows up and can figure out what she can and cannot eat on her own without the cook making something just for her, then she can go to a restaurant.
