Get a paper towel and get it wet, than squeeze as much water as possible out. Now use the wet paper towel to pick up that last thin line. (This is what I do and it works)

This is why I hate dust pans. I just assumed that I didn't know how to us one and everyone else could get all the dirt.

Just draw the pan a little back and swish again, repeat max. 2 times and there you are.
