I'm fat and I do not support fat pride. I also don't get on rollar coasters, wear revealing clothing, or cry about fat shaming. Not because I have low self worth, but because these are my lifestyle choices and I'm grown up enough to live with them. It's time we wake up and live in reality. (I'm just saying)
Yes! Preach it!!! There's a difference between curvy (Beyonce) and fat (Rebel Wilson)
If you're fat and you're happy with that good for you but don't try and tell people it's ok to be that way because it's not: it's unhealthy and it will eventually kill you.
Yea, cause fat pride and glorifying obesity is such a real existent mass phenomenon in real life... NOT You will find fat pride mainly in the net, but, as usual (cis hating queer feminazis, hate mongering vegans etc.) in the net, most of the really extreme cases are probably trolls. The overall fat shaming however is a fact in every fat persons daily life.
Basically 80% of tumblr is pretty serious about fat pride so I think it's more real than you think. Obviously not a majority but a fairly large and loud minority
Yea did you watch the video where a whole bunch of shrieking SJWs broke scales with hammers, then after four seconds they stopped, and panted out some shit about defeating the societal standards set upon them?
My point is, both are equally harmful. You can't cry foul on one and support the other. Regardless, obesity is not healthy and peoples' feelings shouldn't be coddled just because they can't handle the truth.

I don't think that being happy about who you are is something to look down on. I realize that being overweight is dangerous, but if you are trying your best to make a change, then you should be happy. If not, that's something to worry about.
people just don't like when morbidly obese people try to say that they are happy, and then try to convince people that it's ok to be fat, and they should be fat.

Like I said, I agree that people who are in danger because of their weight should not be saying "it's just who they are." But, if you are active and eating well but still overweight, you shouldn't be shamed.
well sure, but those people don't feel the need to pollute the internet with all the 'END FATSHAMING' posts, because those who do that just want to try every option that doesn't require a change of lifestyle. People who are active but still overweight probably don't give that much of a shit cuz they know they're at least trying to change.
How about you mind your own business and don't worry about someone else's weight unless they specifically ask for your opinion, or you're their doctor?
Oh so I shouldn't worry about a group of delusional assholes who want to convince the world that being fat is good and healthy just because they are too lazy to try and get thinner?! No, I will care; just because you get offended by the truth doesn't make it any less true. Stop promoting delusion and self harm (making yourself get obese is self harm).
Jesus you're such a shit person. First, you get triggered because people had the AUDACITY to claim that convincing people to be fat was a BAD thing (I guess you get triggered by basic human biology right, you delusional fuck?) Then you try acting like you're the 'better' person. Listen, you should stop telling people to mind their own business, when they're talking about a phenomenon that affects everyone. Listen, I know you're fat, but that doesn't mean I have to change my opinions to avoid hurting your little feelings. I know a lot of you SJWs are really good at deluding yourselves, but when you get diagnosed with diabetes you're gonna realize that MAYBE you should have gotten up and jogged a little instead of crying on the internet about people not minding their own business and hurting your feelings
Again with your 'yikes'. Are you gonna tell your doctor that when he tells you about the fat buildup in your arteries? Is he gonna be a big mean old bully? I bet that stupid doctor doesn't know what he's talking about, he's just fatphobic! Diabetes is a social construct made to HURT YOUR FEELINGS, right? Oh don't worry, if you close your ears and eyes those big meanies won't be able to hurt you, ever! You'll always be happy in your safe space!
An extra large offin would make a nice safe space, huh? Away from all those meanies telling you that a 50% body fat level is not healthy. Fuck those people, they should mind their own business, right? Plus body shaming is super bad, it's a mean thing to do! Also, FUCK SKINNY PEOPLE men like CURVES DOGS LIKE BONES!!!!! Hey if you're fat don't diet, don't work out, that's what the EVIL society wants you to do! Stick it to the man, eat that 6th whopper! Not that overeating causes obesity, it's GENETIC!!!! TRUST ME IT'S GENETIC. If it wasn't GENETIC, I'd be super skinny right now, cuz I ALWAYS get two extra large DIET cokes with my two triple whoppers, every meal!! Explain that science!! If obesity was caused by my own life choices, how come I'm still fat?? Chewing is a workout, and so is lifting all those burgers to my mouth! Myth busted!!
"people just don't like when morbidly obese people try to say that they are happy, and then try to convince people that it's ok to be fat, and they should be fat."
Why can't a morbidly obese person be happy? You really think a "good" BMI is the exclusive thing to make a person happy? Fat pride means someone refuses to have their entire person/ality reduced to being a sick fatso, according to some varying medical opinion and/or extreme absurd social attitude. It could be genetic disposition, a variety of psychological reasons, or even a lack of self-discipline, that can cause obesity, and as bad as it is, its not even the biggest contributor to mortality. "It's ok to be fat" doesn't mean to glorify obesity. That would be a super stupid thing to do, but NOBODY really does that, except for a small number of actually mentally insane obese persons and lots of trolls. Super douchy argumentation, so that would make you the cunt here.
I hate it when fat people do that whole thing where they pretend diet and exercise doesn't work, then try convincing everyone that fat is beautiful (it isn't) then try convincing other fat people to stay fat. It's promotion of disease; obesity of disease. A fat person can be happy, but they shouldn't promote self harm.
Funsubstanceuser really singling out one part of a sentence out of context here.

I don't think it's too far out of context. Overweight people are not healthy, and that's a problem. But that doesn't mean they deserve to be bombarded with fat shaming posts or people telling them they aren't beautiful and shouldn't be happy. And even if someone who is "fat" is trying to make a change, do you really think that it means they won't be hurt by people shaming them? If a kid gets bad grades and isn't trying to change them, he still doesn't deserve to get beat up for it. And, if a fat person isn't trying to lose weight they still don't deserve to me made fun of for it.
Undercover: I hate it when morons make shit up, like people who glorify being fat or tell other people to stay fat. How bad does your life suck that you spend time and energy inventing that sort of shit?
No its actually the place where the schoolyard bullies have no control over, where they cannot just beat up the fucking faggot nerds they find so disgustingly irritating.
BTW: I wouldn't say the people you mentioned are entirely fabricated. There are left wing, liberal idiots, and - same as you fratboys - some like to troll and provoke. What I am questioning is the relevance in real life. Your filter bubble might show these people as legion, but they're not. Just go outside and open your eyes, and rest assured: fat people are still discriminated and shamed all over.
Ahah am I a fratboy? Jesus dude stop getting so enraged I'm just making some valid points based on what tumblr has presented us with. I knwo tumblr is your safe space and you hate seeing your haven get insulted, but honestly your obvious need for this safe space in itself already proves how bad shit is getting. Btw I'm more liberal than conservative, and I can't really be a fratboy because I am not and will not be part of a fraternity.
If the coaster had a weight limit, it should have been posted. Also, studies have shown that shaming fat people actually makes them fatter, so if you actually care, then keep your comments to yourself.

I agree. Besides, it's really sick to say "if you're having a bad day, remember somebody fell off a roller coaster and died.” Maybe it was because she was too heavy to ride on the roller coaster, but she still lost her life that day and it's not something to laugh about. Imagine if you were her kid, or her family. Or if you sat next to her on that roller coaster and watched her fall. Its really horrible.
@undercover: LMFAO you're blunt, to the point and I love it.
I want to add this in regards to "minding one's own business"
People who are severely over weight (from lack of diet/exercise, not genetics) have health problems. Many become unable to work or simply wish not to work for one reason or another. They then become apart of a corrupt system... Welfare. Those of us who do work, work hard, and bust our asses to make ends meet pay into that system that they get for free. That's unfair to me and my family. They could work, but they don't want to, and now society has to spare their feelings? No.
It's a choice to be morbidly obese. It's a choice to lose weight. But don't bitch about it, it's your decision.
And if you have to suck in your gut and squeeze into a seat... You're not meant to ride that ride. With all due respect.
See, you get downvoted even though you are putting forth a valid point. The people here on funsubstance are really annoyingly stubborn. They refuse to listen to anything that doesn't coddle them.
Undercover is one of my favorites on this site even though we have a few opposing political opinions

Doesn't bother me, undercover. Everyone has an opinion, and I don't need a 'safe space' to hide when I don't get my way, or people don't agree with me. I'm sure you can understand that, I think you even made that point earlier, if I'm not mistaken.
Ya and Muslims had to show their faces in passport photos and transgendered people were sent to the mental institution. No more seatbelts, a lot more drunk driving, and preggo women with a dart in their mouth.
Who the fuck put a net around trampolines? There's supposed to be a chance you fly off, the fear is what makes it fun!
It's not about that. People many times say things like "I wish I was in <x> year. Back then it was awesome". Maybe it was in some specific ways, but it certainly wasn't in many other. If civilisation is in a constant regress, we'd have reached world-ending crisis long time ago.
