That's not as useful as people would like to believe. Cheap normal mirrors can also not have a gap, and the places that would be more likely to pull that shit (shitty hotels) are also more likely to have cheap mirrors.

You can also check if the mirror is set in the wall, or just turn the lights off and light may filter through from their side
