The guy getting shot might not have had a bullet wound, per se, but the impact would have likely cracked/broken bones and left a hell of a lot of bruising. Especially since the area of the coins isn't enough to spread out the kinetic energy of the bullet's impact, like kevlar does.
True. But it said it saved his life, not kept him from some minor injuries. Id say cracked and broken bones and a hell of a lot of bruising is better than having a bullet in your chest.
