Hi Garlog: For me personally, it's not getting attached - it's that there are so few truly great actors out there, that when we lose someone like Alan Rickman, it just hits you in the gut. So to put something like this out there is sacrilege.

That still sounds like being attached. There aren't a lot of world class physicists out there, but people don't tear up when one of them dies. I'm all for a good excuse to watch old shows (not Star Trek specifically, though) but crying seems a bit much.
