Why don't Americans learn manual during their driving lessons?

My first car was a manual. Once you learn that you can drive just about anything. I passed my drivers test first time no drivers Ed- my brother took it 3 times before passing (on an automatic), and a boy in our neighborhood had to take the test 9 times even with drivers Ed- also on an automatic.

But don't those signs block most of the view?

Or everyone could just stop being impatient little fuck nuggets all the time
