Stupid or spiteful?

One year my mom AND dad forgot my birthday. And it is their anniversary. O they remembered their anniversary they just forgot my birthday was the same day. It wasn't till a week later does my mom go "oh no baby I forgot I am so sorry. Look I will go buy you a cake andwe will celebrate it today." By the way I was 12 and I didn't remind them because I wanted to see how far they will go. In the end my parents gave me 100 bucks and let me and a friend go out to eat and see a movie. Without parents and they paid for it all.
