Actually, on another website I saw a rage comic, where a girl chatted casually with a guy, and upon mentioning she had a boyfriend (it had some context, not just "gtfo I have a boyfriend"), the guy literally started ignoring her, then left without saying a word. That situation could've been avoided < if she had a sassy gay friend > if she had mentioned her bf beforehand. I know most guys aren't like that but there are assholes who don't care about a woman as a person, they just want pussy and once they learn she isn't available, they stop being nice and show their true colors. Basically Nice Guy syndrome. So, if guys stop doing that, girls will stop saying they have a boyfriend. Personally, I try to be friendly with everyone, but when a guy starts asking me out or dropping hints, I let him know I'm "off the market". I've been told once or twice that I'm just wasting their time by not letting them know right away. Sorry for being nice and polite, I guess?

I'm going to have to call bullshit on your reasoning. The majority of guys don't care if a girl is in a relationship because they know that that doesn't mean shit. You'd be amazed at the amount of girls who have responded with "That doesn't matter" whenever I say wait doesn't she have a boyfriend or don't you have a boyfriend. They look at me like I'm naive for believing relationships should actually mean something instead of being simply a label. The type of girl that this meme is depicting are the smug ones who believe everybody wants them.
First of all, I find it ironic how you try to call bs on me sharing my experience with guys who literally told me to fuck off after they learnt I'm taken, but are 100% willing to believe that girls say "I have a bf" just because they feel like everybody wants them. Sure, they exist, but you must've been living under a rock if you legit don't know about Nice Guy syndrome.
Secondly, I did write "most guys aren't like that". That means that most aren't, but some are.
In conclusion, assholes exist and you're just being funny if you don't believe me when I say guys can be assholes too, as well as girls obviously.
There are lots of creeps out there, but the important thing is that you don't accept any of it as standard, everyone is different. Hang in there and know that the saying about kissing frogs before you find your prince or princess is true! Don't give up just because you're tired of kissing frogs.
"I have a boyfriend."
"Ma'am please I'm bleeding out."
