Take into consideration the fact that the AG dept pays thousands of farmers millions of dollars to NOT farm hundreds of thousands of acres to keep prices from falling too far.
There's actually enough food in the world to resolve world hunger, only reason it hasn't happened is because we prioritize livestock over people when it comes down to who to feed
The problem is organic farming, the original method, should adequately feed all the humans, bug and pests in all, but there are too damn many of us and overusing the land is not going to help our vast and growing population. Worldwide, about 1/3 of edible food is wasted, and tons of fruits and vegetables that are otherwise fine but don't meet the "beauty standards" required for food are also discarded. We probably wouldn't need to alter our food if we weren't wasting so much of it.
Organic farming: feeding hundreds with land that could have fed thousands.
