Regardless of your religious beliefs, Family Guy explained it best. Maybe doctors and medicine are the answers to your prayers. What's the point of praying if you're just going to ignore His response?
Yeah. That's one thing I hate about those super religious morons. When you think about it, anything could be justified as gods plan, and with all these things it could be who are you to try to figure out what god wants? The only thing is to just go along its it. Sadly these idiots lack the kind of critical thinking skills to even see anything wrong with the Nigerian prince decing to give you money in some weird random procedure.
Cindy was sitting home one day and heard on the news that a hurricane was coming and would likely destroy her town. A few hours later Cindy's neighbor came over with his truck and offered to take her inland to safety. "No thank you, God will keep me safe". The next day the water came, another neighbor stopped in his rowboat to offer to take Cindy to safety. "No thank you, God will keep me safe". The next day the water was raging and Cindy was trapped on her roof. A police helicopter came to rescue her. "No thank you, God will keep me safe". The next day the house was washed away and Cindy drowned. At the Pearly gates Cindy demanded of St Peter, "Why was I left to die? I kept my faith, I said my prayers, I cared for my fellow man for years, why has God forsaken me?"
Peter replied, "God never left you. You chose this. God was with your neighbor in the truck. God was with your neighbor in the boat. God was with the Sheriff's deputies in the helicopter. You had to choose to be helped."
No, like seriously. Normally I would make a diabetes joke, but things like this make me sick. I know what it's like to go without insulin for too long and it is the worst, most painful feeling ever. I hate this. So much.that poor child
so sad. parents are obviously stupid but ive got a severe dissapointment for the social services office that was aware and removed the child for this exact issue. after the parents moved following a failure to continue court ordered treatment, there should have been communication between the ss offices because this issue didnt just spring up. it was known about and could have been prevented by removal.
But that's just it, apparently it had nothing to do with their church, it was their own personal brand of crazy. The investigators asked the church leader if other members of the church went to the doctor and sought medical treatment and he said "Yes, all of them, of course." The parents were just nuts. They actually believed the doctors who originally diagnosed him were the ones who actually gave him the disease and believed that all doctors were trying to hurt him. They had actually him taken away from them when he was in kindergarten because he almost died but they got him back after a year. They had actually told the other 7 children in the house that he had cancer. This is definitely a case of the parents being looney, though yes, I know of cases where it was the church, especially Christian Scientist, who pressured and even threatened parents into refusing treatment,
Peter replied, "God never left you. You chose this. God was with your neighbor in the truck. God was with your neighbor in the boat. God was with the Sheriff's deputies in the helicopter. You had to choose to be helped."
"God only helps those who learn to help themselves."
