Its not uncommon for stuff like this to happen. It's not ghosts of course, its your unconscious mind that can actually "yell" at you, quite often in the voice of someone who is or was near to you. Some part of your perceptional process may run under your conscience and identify the situation as dangerous and make some other instance act. Nothing magic or supernatural here.
