Getting decent grades in school is REALLY not that hard. It just needs a bit effort and a little help (e.g. ask your teacher wether he got any advice for you...). And having bad grades does NOT mean, you will fail in life. However, the most counterproductive thing you can do is to spot trying because you think you can't do it under any circumstances or the system is too broken or whatever.

I know a guy who constantly complains about the college system and how it isn't actually helping, and people don't need it, and on and on. He makes a few decent points, but at the same time, he doesn't do his assignments. He starts them but then he does them "his" way and fails classes because he won't follow the criteria. School doesn't work for him because he won't learn. I do think that the system is messed up, but your approach makes a difference.
