Under the Old Testament law, this is true. But Christians aren't bound by the Old Testament, we're bound by Jesus' New Covenant. This is addressed in John 8 when the Pharisees brought in a woman and said "this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say. Jesus replied "let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." The people gathered around him began to leave and Jesus said "woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? She replied that no one had. And then Jesus said "then neither do I condemn you, go now and leave your life of sin.
I, as a Christian, have heard that you're not supposed to hate anyone, no matter what happens. it's the main lesson I was taught through life. so I don't understand how people can just go around hating people. especially for their preferences. I don't know why we're all still debating on this topic when there are other (more important) things we could debate on. we all need to stop hating each other, you homophobics need to stop hating LGBT+ people just because they want something different. this whole world could be so much better if we all just learned to stop trying to force people into our own habits.
That's great and all but the issue I have is that the lgbt community exaggerates being attacked to be honest I hardly see any gays getting persecuted ever. They also I feel overuse the term homophobic I simply don't agree with gay marriage and I get called that even though I still don't care if they get married
My sister and my brother in law, as well as several of my friends are part of this community. They face discrimination daily, and my brother in law got physically beaten up at school for being gay. My uncle, also gay, kept his life a secret because he knew too many people who had been physically attacked, and suffered from severe depression by hiding a huge part of his life for so long. I think some people may exaggerate, but to say that they all do, and that they don't lead oppressed lives or get attacked is definitely false. There are some parts of the world where it's better for them, it uses you come from one to not see the violence around it. That's wonderful. But where I live its still a struggle and dangerous.
I think that as a Cristian the only way that I have tried to fight gay marriage is when they tried to force us to marry them. I mean I have never seen anyone in the churches I'm in go out and persecute gay people
The fuck, this is not christianty this is Marxism plus stupid fucks. Churchianity.

This SJW Christanity ist not Christianity. It is SJW pure and simple.
I definitely agree with the fact that a true Christian must not hate anyone. In order to show the love we received from God, we must love everyone, with no distinction. But something the pastor said is not true and that is about the Bible not saying anything about the consequences of homosexuality. I don't know in other religions, but for Catholics homosexuality IS one of the sins that cries to Heaven for Vengeance (peccata clamantia). And of course homosexuality in this context means having sexual intercourse with a person of your same sex. Why is this kind of relationship considered a sin? Well, mainly because the relationship between two individuals of the same sex A) is not unique as it's not blessed by God (the couple can't receive the Sacrament of Marriage) and B) is by definition not opened to life so C) is against the nature of the mission the human beings have. I hope it is crystal clear that eterosexual couples who do not respect these rules are in a condition of sin too.

And I'd like to add that Church is NOT homophobic: there are some guidelines which we believe were given us from God himself, so we can't just ignore them. But please remember that these are valid for everyone, not only/especially for homosexuals. You can't choose who you are going to love, of course, so it could even be a person of your same sex. And there's no evil in that! But you surely can choose how to act and it should be pure. That's what Church says. And I'm really sorry if we always give this impression that we are better than everyone else: we are NOT, and that's for sure, but we just care about saving souls and that's why we won't ever keep our mouths shut.
We don't have to stone someone who sins. That person can seek God's forgiveness and try to do better, that is, go,forth and sin no more. (In fact, that's what Jesus said to the woman after he told the crowd "Let he who is without sin throw the first stone.") There's an enormous difference between "go forth and sin no more" and celebrating sinful acts. And not only do,we have to tolerate every thing that someone else wants to,do, we have to celebrate it, and tough luck if you don't want to be a part of it and refrain from baking a cake for the gay wedding.
