I live less than five minutes away from an old chapel that is probably about three or four times that age, if not more. The only reason part of it is missing is because it's next to a cliff, so part of it must have fallen along with the cliff, but the rest is still really stable and shows no sign of falling

My grandparents live in a town that's been architecturally the same (more or less) since the 1500's.

Are you Americn? In the UK there are many buildings older than that. On of my friends even lives in a thatched cottage from the 1750s.
