Since I am not entirely fluent in Spanish, I generally think in English. But I catch myself thinking in Spanish sometikes and I've also had dreams in Spanish.
I live with 2 other people, one of them only speaks English, the other only Spanish. I'm the only one to speak both. My next door neighbour who just moved in only speaks French (which I'm also fluent in). Everytime I have a conversation with one of them, I think in whatever language I spoke until I have a conversation in a different language. I've actually thought about this a lot.
I speak 3 and a half an every once in a while I think in them all at the same time. Resulting usually in words in two languages thought with the grammar of the other one.
I grew up speaking both. My entire family spoke nothing but Spanish at home however my aunt started babysitting a family's son, 5 days out of a week, and would take me so I could go out and he'd have a play buddy since we were about the same age (I was about 2 years old at the time). He spoke nothing but English, so I picked it up. You could say that Spanish is technically my first language since it's the one I was exposed to first, but I don't remember anything before age 3, so as far as my memory goes, I grew up with both. All of this to say that when thinking, I'll catch myself switching from one language to another when I'm alone. When I'm talking with someone, I'll think in the language I'm conversing in.
spanish was my first language but ive been more exposed to english academics, texts and spoken language so as the years went on gradually i started thinking and dreaming in english more. depending on who im around and the environment it switches but mostly english now.
Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans as well (English is my home language). Think in English most of the time except when annoyed/angry or when speaking in Afrikaans. Realised that I've dreamt in Afrikaans lately as well and hadn't done that before.
Depends on context, on what Im thinking for. I mean, depends on who am I gonna talk to, i think in both spanish and english.
Btw lately I find myself forgetting how to say words in spanish even when its my first language. The english word comes first cause I use it more, like right now for example. I spent ten minutes suffering trying to remember the word for outfit.
I mostly think in English, but sometimes certain words or phrases I will think I'm another language, especially if I have been speaking it. (I know Spanish well, some Japanese, some Italian, and a little German ) And I rarely translate back to English in my head anymore. Sometimes I even really have to think to be able to translate to English, not because I don't understand, but because the Enlgish words escape me.
