If we paint BLM by the lunatic fringe, then a cops get to be racist murderers, Christians get to be child molesters and\or quiverfulls, and MRAs are all mass shooters in waiting. Let's just assume by default that most movements are, by and large, made up of reasonable people to start with, hmm?
When black people murder cops in the name of blm, or when the "leaders" advocate killing cops or riots they're pretty much painting themselves as lunatic fringe aren't they?
@guestwho Which BLM leaders advocate killing cops or riots? Or did the quotation marks indicate it wasn't actually leaders, just some idiots referring to #blm?
.
@flowerkiller "If you don't condemn those who use your movement to harm others, your silence speaks louder than any approval could" - you're right of course. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=blm+leaders+condemn+police+shootings
.
@frostbite "I've seen praises of the killers from people who consider themselves part of BLM" - Charles Manson considers himself a part of the hippie movement, you know, these love and peace guys.

"It is sad." - no shit
I would say that if you have to invent a straw man because your argument is so weak you probably don't have issues. At least not truely legitimate ones.
The guest can't read. Attacking people, being a public nuisance with hijacking events unrelated to blm and blocking roads without authorization isn't talking about their problems like rational people. It is causing problems. You want progress? You have to change people's minds. You do that through your voice, not by creating a lawless land.
also, don't forget the whole movement is based on lies. "hands up don't shoot" also, whites are killed by police at twice the rate that blacks are despite committing fewer crimes. I'm not really sure why no one talks about this. It should be "white lives matter"

I believe the first guest meant: You want the movement to stop bringing notice to black issues so that you will then notice those issues?

And what white people are being consistently attacked? Moreso than the black people being targeted by the police, you think?
It is perfectly legal to protest as long as you don't block roadways. But when you block them, all you do is create problems. People can't get to their jobs, ambulances can't arrive quicker, building up traffic. So yeah, that is a problem blocking roads for stupid protests.

Except the protesters clear the way for emergency vehicles...
I agree with this...
Yes, there will always be militants and extremists in every group, for example, guilt tripping vegans (even though most vegans I know are big sweet hearts who support my decision to eat meat 'cause it's amazing), femin'nazis' and biggoted Christians. But in reality, there is only a small minority of people who do this. So quit blaming the entire movement for something 2% of people did and or believe, and love the theory and dream.
And as a white, why are only white people complaining about this??
It's not only white people complaining ? Ive seen MANY black people and people of other races complain about it because no one in BLM is addressing the violent ones in their movement. They choose to just ignore the issue. And even then, they do other stuff and all rally behind it ( such as crashing a candle vigil and calling all the mourners racist )
The majority of people are white, that's why blacks are called minorities. Your statement makes you captain oblivious.

Thanks for reminding me guest, I completely forgot about that. I had no flipping idea I was a minority. If only there were some way I was reminded of that on a daily basis?
I'm a minority too, but I don't get pissy about it or try to play the victim. It is what it is, throwing a tantrum won't change demographic percentages captain crybaby.
Dudes it all just depends where you are. I'm a white guy but if I'm in Compton or maybe 8 mile in Detroit I'm a minority. Besides we're only getting hung up on skin color here; whoopty freakin doo. Skin color is no different than hair color or whether you like Coke or Pepsi. I wish we could all get over the whole "minority/majority" bs and just all be Americans.
Besides in another decade we'll all be minorities to the Hispanics anyway!
I am pretty, pretty sure you're not black though. Also why is it so "obvious" that white people would be against #blm? I am as white as it gets, and I don't want to live in a society, where a huge minority is so obviously disadvantaged as black people are in america.
Ok so in Compton or Black Detroit your white cracker ass is a minority and those zoo animals look at you real majority like. Wow. Til you get home to your white neighborhood to tell those other crackers about your little adventure. You apparently lack the empathy and the fucking basic information of what it means to be member of an underprivileged minority. Whites got the money and the power. 100% of all whites? No. The poor people are becoming the real disadvantaged minority, but only in a way that now a few more whites could get a grip as to how that really feels. When the hispanics get larger in number than the whites, doesn't mean they get the money and infiuence. Its only getting a little harder for the whites to be in charge. Which is why it should be in the best interest of every white (who is not insanely rich) to fight inequality in a society.
"just how is this "huge minority so obviously disadvantaged"? Over represented in jail and morgue, underrepresented in housing, jobs and visible society like culture and media. You seriously want to deny that? Uhm,. what a stupid question, of course you do, being as well programmed in neoconservative rightwing cracker ideology.
Ok gotcha. Yeah I'd say so too. Sure we have a less than spotless history that we cannot deny, but it's just that: history. None of us probably did any of the shitty things that happened and we can't change it. We can only control the future. If we keep dredging shit up like this we'll never get past it.
Funny enough neither of you challenged a single fact I stated. Wonder why.

I'm not brainwashed or whatever you want to say I am to invalidate my argument. But I am happy to accept the title as Captain by that one guest, who insists I am one. All I want right now is for people to accept that black people, at this point in time (and many times prior), are vulnerable. All lives matter---no shit---but right now, black lives are the ones in jeopardy. I'm obviously not getting anywhere here, where most of you oppose the entire movement.
Right now, like right right now, all lives are vulnerable and in incredible jeopardy. Twisting the right to live to focus on black people is nothing more than downplaying the right to live of non-blacks. There is no win with your rhetoric, only flipped racism. Captain oblivious crybaby strikes again.
@funsubstanceuser neither if us challenged a single "fact" because you presented none.
As is usual in our encounters you have simply regurgitated baseless and false statements and platitudes from the radical left, and resorted to ad hominem attacks when you could not make a point.
Nothing there to refute; only to pity.
@guestwho so your calling my presentation of facts "baseless and false statements and platitudes from the radical left" is based on what deep truth on your side? My "ad hominem" is just the icing. Don't pretend your shit don't stink, you're not here to have a decent conversation, are you?
In fact I am here to have a decent conversation, and we will never get past our past if we refuse to let it go. Society is far too fucked up right now for all this petty bullshit about oppressors and victims when it's not even happening. There are real problems in the world. There are real victims of oppression. People are being murdered left and right just for having different beliefs. Separating ourselves and squabbling over skin color? Who we happen to love? How we want to dress or present ourselves? Doesn't this shit seem just a little petty in the grand scheme?

Exactly how do I behave that disagrees with my beliefs?

That's some pretty serious white hatred there. I'm sorry for whatever happened to make you so bitter and twisted.
Only the perpetrators are Marxist racists as opposed to 'neo-conservatives', whatever those are.
