That's as much your fault as theirs. If you want to socialize, go for it. Otherwise don't let them push you around.

That is so hard to do when you are an introvert. We're generally talked over when we finally have the energy/courage to voice an opinion. In the case of refusing a social offer, if the other person/s actually listen to our 'no', we are often told that we are being ridiculous, or of course we should come, or they guilt trip you. It really is SO much harder than it would seem to an extrovert.

Then don't fucking try. I'm also quite introverted and socially awkward, however I never have to deal with stuff like this because I don't let people push me around over a half assed hope people will just engage with me. Usually I'm open to it, but I don't really care. But is I actually want to, I make sure it does instead of feeling all sorry for myself because no one else will.
