Sort of. It's possible for people to be mistaken. However that possibility doesn't nullify the others. A better analogy would be whether you are still interested in soccer after you've tried playing it.
@german_satan can you provide a good analogy of how being interested in something gives you right to a "title"?
@bwaters but Iggy is talking about people who have NOT tried it. That's not an analogy.
@ajhedges Straight is the default. Like being mentally sane is the default. People don't need to get diagnosed as mentally sane to say they're sane.
I believe the point ugly is trying to make is that you can't really be sure unless you've tried. As expressed by my analogy. And while it is possible to make mistakes, as a rule, that is not correct.
It still stands. People know they are gay or straight before they start dating. It's not as if we go into a relationship without really knowing if we'll be attracted or not. Why shouldn't the same apply to bisexuals?

I don't have a good analogy, that doesn't mean I can't tell if one is bad or good. I hope you notice that I wasn't trying to fight, hence I used the term friend.
I'm not sure whether this is the best analogy, but it's sort of like saying a shade of purple is only purple if it's been in paintings with blue and reds. You can't really deny it's "purpleness" even if it's been painted with just blues or just reds or just greens or etc.
