It depends on what you use to consider East or West, dateline or the meridian.The IDL shifts around Alaska and other territories so that they would be the same. There are lots of places where it jogs over to accommodate countries. If you use the meridian however, 180 degrees, it is East and West.
What annoys me is how people mess up the last fact, it's a lot cooler than that. Not only is Finland separated from North Korea by one country, so is Norway. Norway 'reaches' around Finland and also has a border with Russia.
