IC 1101, a supergiant elliptical galaxy on the other hand is the one in question... though there is debate as how to measure its size. Measuring the galaxy proper yields a size with an uncomfortably large error range at 420 ± 78 thousand lightyears in diameter. Taking the halo into account yields a size of 4 million lightyears.
