The color still exists though, it's just not on the part of the electromagnetic spectrum perceivable by us. Also the other color one (number 2) is like using a word in its own definition, their explanation still doesn't explain what that color is to a blind person
I don't know if I'm reading this text right, but I don't see anywhere that you have to explain it to a blind person. So you just can easily say that your favorite color, the color of the sky is. Or if your favorite color is black than it makes things easier by saying that your favorite color is the color what a blind one sees.
That's saying what it is, but it doesn't describe it. I could say my favorite shirt is the same shirt someone else has, but that doesn't describe the shirt itself

purple doesn't exist. it can't be seen with eyes, only perceived with our minds..
