If i remember correctly there's a movie about the black dragon. Basically the white dragon gives you certain victory, while the black dragon gives a chance at victory (black dragon wins in the end of the movie)

Season 0 if I remember correctly. The Red Eyes wasn't Joey's either, it belonged to some random kid from their class who, once he got it, stopped dueling because "there was no way he could loose" but he really just had no confidence in himself so it was an excuse to not duel and risk loosing.

What always bothered me as a kid was why they spelled out the whole "blue eyes white dragon" but only used the letter B. for black even though "red eyes black dragon" actually has fewer letters and should have also fit on the card.
