Anybody else noticed that the Google homepage commemorates literally every single black, Hispanic, Muslim, foreign, gay and trans holiday and notable person, but they just have the standard "Google" today?
This is some bullshit that really needs to be protested all over social media. I say fuck Google. I'm seriously considering switching to an iPhone and using Bing.
The level of butthurt in these comments are real. Ok, so here's the thing. It's not on the Google homepage because no one cares. It happened years ago, the whole thing has just died out. Got boring after a while, not even really doing anything but talking about 9/11 out of respect or something. Like, it's not even a celebration, or mourning, or anything. We just kinda talk about it. So honestly? You and maybe 1000 other people care. That's it.
Ok then, obviously you don't care about slavery right? Happened a long ass time ago didn't it? The holocaust? Psh; old news, get over it.
I don't know you so I can't say for certain you are, but this comment makes you seem like an idiot.
I think we should make a few jokes about 9/11. Why? The terrorists did this to spread fear, hate, sadness, and other negative emotions. So if share a few laughs while remembering those who have fallen and never forgetting what happened, we can win a fight against terrorism on a much less physical scale.
Exactly, but if it gets to the point where it's like "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 3k PEOPLE ARE DEAD!" it's just not funny.
This gif makes me laugh every time, but it's kinda insensitive so watch out.

Jokes like that are sorta pushing it.
Like a virgin butt, you must ease into it. Yes, some can take it easier, but some are gonna take it pretty hard, and they're gonna scream.
They'll never forget the bombings on top of their houses for years.
It was a tragedy, but don't come to the world as cute kittens while murdering several orders of magnitude more.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Barbary_War Read the "Background and overview" section. I understand Wikipedia is often a less than reliable source but I'm sure portions of this are accurate and paint you a picture of muslim aggressions against the rest of the world dating back 500 years. And specifically against the US 232 years.

Interesting read.
However, that is a conventional war.
Here we are talking about literally blowing up civilians' houses, attacks on non-militant zones.
And aside from all of this, are we really justifing everything with 'they started it'?
Did you read the section where the "musselmen " were enslaving and killing merchant Mariners? Merchant marine means civilian shipping.
.
Did you read the part where they justified the 1790s attacks with the Koran?
.
Do you not expect retaliation to aggressions? 1979, US civilians taken hostage for months. 1995 first attempt to bring down WTC. 2001, successful attempt. Charlie Hebdo. Paris restaurants and nightclubs. ALL CIVILLIAN TARGETS. We are not fighting a conventional war against uniformed soldiers. The enemy combatants ARE civilian radicals.

The fact that they are doing it (because all of those are indeed civilian targets) does not justify that you do it in response. I'm all for fighting against any kind of terrorism, or war for that matter. You can't justify doing something to someone because "they did it too".
And of course there's gotta be retaliation to an attack. Still does not justify the way of doing it.
Edit: Yes, they are civilian radicals, but nowadays you can equate that to militants, which ARE targetable. But not the other innocent people.
Darkanhell, I see where you're coming from, but you don't seem to understand that the United States does it's absolute best to keep collateral damage to a minimum. Also, we aren't the only country with military forces in the area, Britain, Germany, Russia, there are plenty of UN member states with their militaries in the middle east.

Yes, I'm aware of other countries contributing to it, mine among them.
And keeping collateral damage to a minimum is something i want to believe, but somehow do not. I guess i'm skeptical in that matter.
Anyways, going back to the original argument: As someone else said, the point is this happened long ago. We all felt it and it was a tragedy. But it's about time we stop taking it as it just happened, or getting butthurt about jokes around it. This, combined with the appearance of "we are the good guys/police of the world" is basically what has created the trend of hate towards the us that is around lately
@darkanhell either have you no concept of history or you are a Muslim radical yourself.
This radical Islam bullshit has been going on since the beginning. That's what the fucking Christian crusades were about; fighting off the invading Muslims! THEY STARTED THIS SHIT.
Even if your twisted view was close to reality, what did Canada do? What did Turkey do? They're Muslims too! What did fucking France do to them? France surrenders at the first sign of conflict; they sure as hell didn't start anything!

Not wasting my time on rebating someone that resorts to assumpitons and attacks as an attempt of winning an argument.
You should learn from chakun or pokethebear here. Good day, sir.
No, I'm pretty sure they're very large rectangular prisms. At any rate, I'm a huge architecture buff, so they look really nice to me and I couldn't care less about how they look to you.
The Patriot Act was a kneejerk result of 9/11 and is itself another national tragedy, one of the worst pieces of legislation ever passed. The Iraq and Afghanistsn wars spawned here as well and they are world tragedies. A dozen nut jobs fucked up the entire world. There are youths now (and probably many of our users) who have no idea what was done to them. I hope they read about it and understand.
At my store we sell 9*11 flags. It's as if we have nothing better to do then push sympathy endlessly. We don't even help the first responders that saved people with their own medical bills
NY state spent a shitload of money on medical bills for first responders and the Feds spent even more. I bought an Operation Desert Storm t-shirt once. I can buy a thin blue line flag. People sell BLM t-shirts. There is always somebody willing to buy these things. I have seen shirts from the Middle East celebrating 9/11. I get your distaste, I hate October with the pink shit everywhere because of the bullshit my wife went through (she hates October more). I choose to never forget or forgive 9/11, I have family members and friends who were sent off to fight after 9/11, the patriot act fucks us all. I want to point my finger at that event and say "that is why so much shit is fucked".
@banana I agree with this comment^^. I joined when I was 17, as did my older brother (a year older than me). I was reluctant to join since it was during war time- but both of my parents were military, as were their parents- and so on. However, we both joined and are proud to be able to say that we did our part.
Yeah, we should totally forget about the time when terrorists flew 767s into skyscrapers and the U.S. Department of Defense, since that's such a normal and regular occurrence.
And its not like thousands died in initial attack, not the mention those who died from complications years later. Or the thousands who have died in the wars and subsequent attacks that are a durect offshoot if this day.
This is some bullshit that really needs to be protested all over social media. I say fuck Google. I'm seriously considering switching to an iPhone and using Bing.
Yahoo it.

I'm ready for the hate.
Didn't see that.
Also, I thought someone would attack me over losing x relative and that I dare stop them from shitting empathy everywhere
