Benzyl peroxide. This changed the game for me as a teen. I had severe acne and things like proactive made it worse. After a couple months I was acne free
I'm allergic to benzyl peroxide. It makes my face swell and burn so I just use regular acne stuff. I miss having totally clear skin

I was prescribed this stuff called Zineryt (it's a zinc acetate lotion) after my skin went crazy on Peroxide and it seems to really work, I'm getting a LOT less acne than I was a few months ago. Might want to ask your dermatologist or GP about it :)
I agree with you on the get active but not the junk food. It doesn't really matter what you eat as long as you don't rub it all over you. Quoting that from my dermatologist. However, what I would add is wash your clothes, towels, and bed/pillow sheets as often as you can, because bacteria and oils that come off your body. Stop using oily body lotions and if you wear make-up wash that off before bed. Also talk to your dermatologist they will help you better with controlling acne.
I always thought eating oily foods might make it worse, lady_earth31 proved me wrong as you can see above.
However, working out is not that great for your skin either. On one hand, it helps you get rid of fat and oils in your body and the sweat will clean out your pores. But! Working out increases your testosterone levels which may lead to hormonal acne, also you may tear your pores if you rub sweat off with a towel and that may lead to infection and pimples. So yeah, work out to stay/get in shape, but don't overdo it.
yeah, when I first started getting acne, I washed my face 6-7 times a day. That started stripping my face of natural oils, causing my skin to have to produce even more oil, making the acne worse :(
Well if you washed your face 6-7time a day yeah it's not good for you. If you wash after you woke up and before bed you probably be okay. 6-7 times a day over excessive don't you think. Also I would like to point out that everyone has different skin types, so your mom or dad can less oily skin while you can have deep frier greasy skin.
