I store mine in a tic-tacs container. Haven't lost a single one. Hair ties on the other hand.......

I tried that. My whole tic tac container vanished (I think my sister took though tbh). If the tic tac thing worked for you, have you considered keeping your hair ties on one of those carabiner clips?

I have a little bowl for them in my bathroom, but I sometimes take them off before I get there. I'd probably lose the carabiner too.
