I use facial recognition software at work. It's terrible and inaccurate for surveillance purposes. It works well with photographs when they are the correct angle, but that's about it. More often than not, it classifies any Asian man as a Caucasian woman, anyone with a chubby face/non distinct facial features reads inconclusive, and anyone with an overly thin face/boney facial features read as 15 to 30 years older than they are. Not to be a Debby downer, I would trust a vending machine before facial recognition software haha

Does facial hair screw it up?

Unless your facial hair covers your entire face like a werewolf, no. "Lumberjack" type beards make the jaw matching more difficult, but not impossible.

thnx, was just curious if it almost made it easier sometimes by defining the face. Definately understandable if you are a sasquatch it makes it difficult.

OH! And Asian women under 60 years old (like 15 to 59) confuses the shit out of the software. It cannot distinguish age at all, always reads ERR (error)
