Ya feel patriotic, but you soon find out, no matter back in the Nam of in the sandbox today, you aren’t fighting for ideals or politics. You are not even fighting so you can get home to your family safely. You fight with everything you have and then some, so that fellow marine next to you can make it home to his family safely.
This is a most insidious condition and no two people are affected the same! Everyone needs to find out more about this condition so they can aid those we suffer because they were defending our freedoms!
I do the same, but fire triggers my memories of trauma. You don’t “get over it “ the trauma changes you, as a man you try to stand tall, as is expected. Apologies to females, I just can’t relate to your struggles.
